When Kitty’s front door opened, I expected to see her coming through it first, instead it was Lily who came bounding out. Looking like a ballerina in a jewelry box, she wore a cute dress with a pink netted skirt; pink sneakers and her hair pulled into a tight bun with a pink bow. Sugary sweet was what I’d have called the look if it hadn’t been for her blood red lips and black eyeliner.

“Hey,” she called through the open truck window as she waved.

Surprised by her friendly greeting, I got out of the truck, ran around the front of it and opened the back door for her, just as she reached it.

“Hi, Lily.”

“You look decent. Not bad.” She eyed me with an arched brow. “Hmm your shirt matches mom’s dress. Interesting.”

I looked down at my purple button down and grey dress pants. “Really?”

“Yeah, but don’t think anything about it,” she sighed, “there’s a high probability it would happen when you have as many dresses as mom has.”

She then ignored the open door and went for the front of the truck instead and hopped up into the passenger seat.

“Okay then,” I muttered to myself.

“Hi gorgeous.”

I looked up to see Kitty walking toward me and damn it she looked hotter than Hades. Just as Lily had said, she was wearing a deep purple colored dress that was made of a stretchy material that clung to every curve. It wasn’t cut too low at the front, but even so I was getting a great view of her amazing cleavage.

“Damn it, woman,” I growled as she reached me. “You want me to have a heart attack.” I leaned in and kissed her cheek. “You smell amazing too.”

Kitty’s hand smoothed down the front of my shirt. “Looking pretty good yourself, cowboy.” Her gaze moved to the front seat of the truck where Lily was looking down at her phone. “She called shotgun, hey.”

I raised a brow and nodded. “I think she’d prefer it if we didn’t sit within touching distance of each other.”

Kitty rolled her eyes. “Well, she needs to understand I have a life and that life does not include her douche nozzle father.”

I busted out a laugh and then leaned in for another kiss, this time to her lips. “Come on gorgeous let’s get going before I persuade you to bail and go back into the house.”

Kitty poked at my stomach and gave a little sigh. “Damn, those abs are good.”

I caught hold of her finger and pulled her to me. “Seriously, Kitty, I cannot wait for this day to be over so I can bring you home.”

Giving me a wink, she moved to the front of the truck and yanked open the door. “Okay, sweetheart, time to make room for Momma.”
